Thanks for the headlines bit, Tim. Was able to snag me 600 of the X shares at $14.55, and 1000 of the Y shares at $14.50. Wait two weeks, snag the divi capture and then tender them back to PSB at $15.29 and $15.33 and call it day. Have anymore layups like this for me today, please?
I gotta get me some better reading skills…..nice one, Grid
If my dumb arse brokerages didnt have OTC premarket restrictions, I could have done better as one series was laying there for taking at $12. But it adjusted higher right before market opened. I was lucky to get what I got I guess.
Don’t blame your broker for that one, those shares were never there for the taking.
$12 was there at ask, and then trading volume popped up and they were gone. So I am forced to assume the premarket sell volume was those $12 ask shares that popped up an hour before market opened. I had one brokerage account in the days gone by I could buy OTC premarket. But I dont have the ability anymore.
Good on ya Grid. I had that exact thought last night when I read the news and looked at the closing prices. Could I snag a few bright and early? However, I then slept for a couple of hours and cleaned out the dead brain cells, along with a few live ones. Never thought of it again until I read your post! Shit!! I need to write more stuff down.
Guys, Tim gave a great one a few years back. He posted Entergy was issuing a new bond and in the details it said it was being used to redeem some old Entergy Arkansas $100 preferreds with higher redemption prices. I was able to buy a bunch like $7-$8 bucks below par before market figured it out. Wish we had more easy kills like these, but unfortunately it doesnt happen often.
Grid–I remember that one. Given my ‘older’ age I miss a lot nowadays.
Was sleeping on this 🙁
For nickel stackers, the bid on the Y @ $15.41 still gives 1.6% return in about a month. Was able to pick some up at the bid.
Similar math on the Z at $14.41
I’m holding my X shares. They are already in the sock drawer. They can keep sending the offers out, but the offers will be put in the trash can. I dont have a lot of shares. I do applaud them for thinking and executing an opportunity to make millions of dollars. Huge bonuses probably went out. Congrats to them.
Silvergate just turned into LeadGate…

Cowen alert only mentions the series A preferred 1,000 par no mention of the COWNL notes due 2033
Call on COWNL has been officially been funded – Call will happen 6/15 – see post in Sandbox.
It sure would be nice if these were traded somewhere over these next 3 months.
