I just took a moment to clean up the Socker Drawer and Reader Alert comment pages.
As some of you have noted those pages get really slow when the number of comments gets high–they were both in the 1500 area so I deleted 1/2 the comments which should speed up performance.
As you may (or may not) recall some wanted more ‘history’ in the comments–I used to leave a maximum of 500 comments–but as requested I let that grow. Unfortunately you have to sacrifice performance to leave more history.
I probably won’t let these pages grow to 1500 comments in the future–instead opting for a happy medium.
