  1. Does anyone have any thought(s) on investing in closed-end fund XAI common shares (XAI Octagon FR & Alt inc. fund)? I know Tim likes the fund’s cl A pfd shares. The fund seems to have consistently excellent short- and long-term total returns, and extraordinarily high dividend payments, but also very high leverage, and astronomical investment advisory fees and expenses. (Plus, if the pfd shares are good value, those paying them–CE fund shareholders– may be paying too much.) Another concern is the inherently limited disclosure of private placement fund holdings, always a difficult feature to evaluate. The fund’s at a premium right now, but if it goes to a discount, would it be a worthwhile value?
