Came across this item this morning–interesting. This 5.50% non cumulative preferred (CADE-A) is an exchange traded issue and to see a special paid to preferred holders is pretty unusual.

“The record date for determining shareholders eligible to vote at the Special Meeting will remain the close of business on Nov. 8, 2024.” That seems to imply that no new owner of CADE-A will be able to have his vote counted to help make this special dividend happen, right?

It seems to be now, Tim, but for a while yesterday, I know I’d give a post a LIKE and it would show up, remain “liked” for a moment then disappear…..

Yes, though you *would* collect the dividend if the vote passes with the required majority.
I have to imagine it is difficult to get preferred shares to vote outside of a crisis.

probably no coincidence I’ve been using FF. their update also seemed to slow things down dramatically, at least initially… that seems to be improving now as well… had another update today too.
